Another NFL player suspended due to drugs

Players, drugs, charges, and suspension.
This one is for Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Matt Jones.

Just the beginning.....
The saga began in July when Matt Jones was arrested in Fayetteville Arkansas on drug charges, after police say he was inside a car cutting up cocaine with a "credit card".
Details in the police report stated that while approaching the car, an officer drew his handgun after Jones did not immediately show his hands. Police then began to search the vehicle and found a plastic bag filled with a white substance that tested positive for cocaine and a jar with possible marijuana residue.
Get this even though the police officer caught Jones in the act of cutting up the cocaine with a credit card he still plead not guilty.
**Now 5 months later, the wide receiver is facing what I like to call
"Judgement Day."

Today, the NFL upheld Jones' three-game suspension for violating the league's substance-abuse policy. With the Jaguars season pretty much at an end, they will now have to play the rest of the season without their leading receiver. In addition to a three-game suspension, Jones will also go without pay. Question, how is it that a first-round draft pick that's having the best year of his career be set back by a stupid decision that involves doing drugs? I know that many players in the league tend to smoke marijuana during their off season, don't get me wrong I'm not saying that's okay, but there is a difference between being behind closed doors and being out in public. It bothers me when its brought to my attention that someone with the amount of caliber as Jones blows their career on thoughtless decisions such as this. This is just another story that proves that NFL players are nothing more than normal human beings. Now the lingering question that will remain among Jags fans will be if the sudden troubled receiver comes back next year.
